Friends of the Swan’s Island Lighthouse just received the Keeper of the Light award from the American Lighthouse Foundation (ALF) for outstanding work on lighthouse restoration. |
Here’s ALF’s description of the work at Burnt Coat Harbor Light Station: “The dedicated and talented efforts of the Friends of the Swan’s Island Lighthouse represent a ‘gold standard’ when it comes to lighthouse restoration….It has also provided the national lighthouse community with a shining example of preservation excellence.”
The Keeper of the Light award is the highest award made by ALF. Many, many people have a part in this award, including the Town of Swan’s Island, which has provided steady support and encouragement to FOSIL. Thanks to all the contributors, volunteers, and grant makers who helped make this possible! And a big thank you to ALF.
