Our trails are complete! 2014 will be the first year without major work on the trails around Hockamock Head. If you haven’t yet tried it, plan to walk the loop from the keeper’s house to Burying Point beach, and back up to the road by way of the 42 steps built last summer by Maine Conservation Corps. Other improvements to look for this summer: There will be new signage on the trails and the new information kiosk will display maps and information for visitors. Look for the pasture roses and rugosa roses planted last summer to the west of the keeper’s house. We are hoping they have made it through the winter and will show some color along with other wild flowers in the conservation area.
