Hello Lighthouse Friends – in this difficult time, we will keep you informed about lighthouse matters through postings here and on Facebook. We know that many of you will miss the island this summer, and we will try to help you remember the good times past, and look forward to good times ahead, by posting current information, photos and maybe a few videos. In the meantime, here’s a photo of the lighthouse with the flag flying – it’s the photo that graced the cover of the Town Report this year, and thanks to Brian Krafjack for allowing me to post it here. Our long-planned project of adding a railing to the steps from the Keeper’s House porch to the lawn has been completed in style – thanks to Charlie Wiegle. For a photo of the new railing, check out our Facebook page. And if the Keeper’s House is eventually able to open, visitors will be able to see a Historical Society exhibit with a retrospective of the lighthouse restoration project, starting long ago with the hard work by Roberta Joyce and others to prevent the destruction of the tower. Stay tuned!
